There are two Conversation Clubs in Birmingham to choose from:

HARBORNE CLUB

  • WHERE: At Harborne Baptist Church, Harborne Park Road, Harborne, Birmingham B17 0DH
  • WHEN:  Every Tuesday evening from 6.30pm – to 8.00pm 
  • HOW MUCH: £10 per session or 5 sessions for £45 or 10 sessions for £80. 
  • BOOKING: You need to book and pay online in advance through our Acuity Booking System
  • ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEVEL: You must be an intermediate speaker of English or above. This is equivalent to B2 on the CEFR scale, ESOL Level 1 or IELTS Band 6 and above. 

STIRCHLEY CLUB

  • WHERE: At Stirchley Community Church, Hazelwell Street, Stirchley, Birmingham B30 2JX
  • WHEN:  Every Wednesday morning from 10:00am – to 11.30am
  • HOW MUCH: £10 per session or 5 sessions for £45 or 10 sessions for £80. 
  • BOOKING: You need to book and pay online in advance through our Acuity Booking System
  • ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEVEL: You must be an intermediate speaker of English or above. This is equivalent to B2 on the CEFR scale, ESOL Level 1 or IELTS Band 6 and above. 

How it works

This is not just an opportunity to talk in English! These sessions will be structured, providing you with lots of opportunity to learn, as well as having fun and meeting new people! Although these sessions will be more relaxed than a formal ESOL or IELTS class, you will pick up new language, improve your pronunciation and fluency and develop your confidence and speaking skills overall.

Every week, we will discuss a different topic. This will often be based on a reading text, such as a newspaper article or blog post, a short video or a sound file that will be sent to you before the class. You will discuss questions, ideas and language in pairs or groups and you will also complete activities to learn or review different areas of vocabulary and grammar. New language and personalised feedback will be provided during each class.

All sessions will be run by a highly experienced and fully qualified English language teacher.
